Planning the best luxury escape and you need to book tours for a luxury trip at affordable prices ? Here is a list of tips :
What a luxury to sit back and relax while your own private driver takes you wherever you wish to go. No jostling luggage at the train station, no airport security to deal with. Just step outside your hotel door and be whisked away in your luxury sedan. Traveling by private car allows for stops at that quaint Michelin star restaurant, out-of-the-way charming villages, and special sites that are just too hard to get to with train or air travel. If I had taken a train or flown between Munich and Prague I would not have discovered Regensburg, Germany, a medieval charmer, or historic Ceský Krumlov in the Czech Republic on my drive outside of Prague. I oftentimes find that a private driver is not much more expensive than the price of two first class rail tickets. And then there’s your airport arrival. Start your vacation off on the right foot and have a driver pick you up. I love spotting my name on a placard at the airport gate, held by a driver ready and waiting to get me to my hotel without the hassle of taxi lines.
Be mindful of extra costs while on a cruise. Once onboard it is very easy to lose sight of the little extras building up, such as drinks and tips.
If you’re planning to see a show in London or New York, before you pay top dollar, visit the TKTS ticket booth in Leicester Square (London) or Times Square (New York) – you can buy tickets for all the best shows for half price or at a heavy discount.
When dealing with a hotel, agent or villa owner directly, always ask for a discount. If you don’t ask, they won’t offer.
Consider a holiday in the UK, you’ll avoid the expense, time and stress of a flight. The British countryside is beautiful and there are many wonderful places to relax and enjoy its splendour, also you just might find a whole new appreciation of your home.
Apply in time for travel documents (international passport & visa) when applicable. This information can also be found on the website of the government of your home country (cf. links above). Apply in time for ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) when you travel to/via USA, or for an eTA when you travel to/via Canada.
Know what the weather will be like at your travel destinations. Don’t get caught unprepared, and always double-check the weather forecast the day before your departure. The best weather forecast websites are the weather channel, wunderground, and – my favorite – accuweather.
Go less central and less touristy. If you stay out of the center of things and off the beaten track, you are more likely to get more for less. Research from Trivago suggests that staying within 1 km of Seattle city center could cost you $100/night more than outside that 1 km circumference. Plus, staying outside the city center can get you into interesting neighborhoods so that you get a real feel for the city.
Travel the perimeter of Western Europe rather than the center. Cities that are farther out from the center tend to be less expensive. Think Porto, Portugal; Valetta, Malta; or Athens, Greece. The same does not apply to northern Europe which is quite expensive.
Suggested destinations : If you’re looking for an urban escape, there is nowhere more romantic than Paris. What is there to say about the city of love that you don’t already know? Of course there are restaurants that are out of this world and museums with some of the best artwork in the universe, but my personal favorite part of Paris if you’re looking for romance is just wandering the streets and stumbling into tiny cafes and sipping wine, sampling cheese and baguettes. Cozying up in cafes is certainly a favorite pastime of mine. I also highly recommend doing a romantic night tour with Cedric. He shows you a side of the city of light that only comes to life after dark!
